Wills and Executorship
Making a Will
You are never too young (or too old) to make a Will. A Will is evidence of your wishes once the inevitable has happened. Making a Will gives you the peace of mind that your wishes will be carried out and it gives your surviving family the comfort of knowing that the distribution of your estate will be managed in a proper and trustworthy fashion.
Not making a Will will almost certainly bring additional stress to your family at a time of great sadness.
Le Gallais & Luce is also able to act as the Executor of your Will should you so desire, thereby relieving your family of this responsibility at a difficult time.
What does an Executor do?
In simple terms, it is the job of the Executor(s) to gather in all the assets of the Estate and carry out the wishes of the deceased as laid out in his or her Will. This will include settling any outstanding debts and assessing any claims made by banks or other financial institutions. It will also entail making sure that all other wishes expressed in the Will are carried out as well – for example, the funeral arrangements and the appropriate distribution of the assets of the estate to the beneficiaries.
As you can appreciate, this can be a very sensitive task at a very difficult time which is why firms such as Le Gallais & Luce are often appointed as the Executor of the Will when it is drawn up.
